Where Officials Come to Learn

Cedar Point Sports Center June 14-15

True Officiating, Gr8 Refs, and Diane Plas Officiating will be holding a training session at the Cedar Point Sports Center on June 14-15, 2024. This session will be held in conjunction with a sanctioned Ohio Athletic Association Girls High School Team Camp. The officiating camp will include classroom discussions on various topics, on-court feedback, and evaluation for officiating rosters for the 2024-2025 season. Campers are expected to remain for the duration of camp.

Rob Doss of Gr8 Refs is the coordinator of officials for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NCAA D2), Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (NCAA D3), Crossroads League (NAIA), and Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (NAIA). He is also a supervisor for the NCAA D2 Regional and Elite 8. He has over 45 years of officiating experience. His career included assignments for the Mid-American Conference Championship, 12 NCAA D2 Regional Tournaments, multiple NCAA D3 Tournaments, and 4 NAIA National Tournaments. He officiated the 1996 NAIA and 2006 NCAA Division 2 National Championship games. He was inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021.

Diane Plas is the Coordinator of Women’s Basketball Officials for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (NCAA D2), Ohio Athletic Conference (NCAA D3), North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAA D3), Presidents Athletic Conference (NCAA D3), and Ohio Junior Colleges. Diane has also served as a NCAA Division I Tournament Regional Evaluator. Diane has also served as an evaluator at the NAIA National Tournament. She was inducted into the Lake Erie Basketball Officials Association Hall of Fame in 2001, the Northern Ohio Basketball Officials Association Hall of Fame in 2005, the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007, and the Ohio High School Officials Hall of Fame in 2009.

Bryan and Kalei Enterline are also invited to attend the camp. They are the Coordinators for Officials for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (NCAA D3).

Camp cost is $325. This fee covers evaluation and instruction. Meals and lodging are the responsibility of each camper. Refunds are at the discretion of the camp directors. After May 10th, no refunds will be issued.

Camp roster spots are not secured until payment is received.
