Matt Balster

Matt Balster founded True Officiating in 2023 with the purpose of offering a training opportunity for officials of all levels to improve play calling, on-court awareness, game management, and rules knowledge. Matt brings over 28 years of officiating experience, including 23 years at the women’s NCAA Division I level. In addition to working numerous Division I conference tournaments, Matt has been selected to the Women’s NCAA Division II tournament 9 times, advancing to the Elite 8 twice and the national championship game in 2021. Matt has also been to the Women’s NCAA Division III tournament 15 times, including the D3 Final Four in 2016 and 2018.

Diane Plas

Diane Plas is the Coordinator of Women’s Basketball Officials for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, Ohio Athletic Conference, North Coast Athletic Conference, Presidents’ Athletic Conference, and Ohio Junior Colleges. Diane has also served as a NCAA Division I Tournament Regional Evaluator.

In addition to basketball, Diane serves as the Coordinator of Volleyball Officials for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, Ohio Athletic Conference, North Coast Athletic Conference, and Ohio Junior Colleges. She has also worked as the Director of Development of volleyball officiating for the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
